The seasons in the PhanThiet area can be described as wet and hot and dry and hot. The photos below were taken in late spring when storms were drenching the area sporadically. The humidity was high and it was often uncomfortable. Mosquitoes were everywhere and one of the things that we did consistently in our platoon was to take our daily anti-malaria pills. The scenes below depict two of our camps.
The following pictures are also of LZ Virginia and LZ Betty. They belonged to Ivan Alfaro, who was in the mortar platoon in 1966-1967. He gave them to me so that they could be posted here.
