On the following pages you will see pictures that I took in Vietnam during my tour of duty from December 1966 to December 1967. The pictures were taken during patrols and during times of relaxation in the area of Phan Thiet while I was serving with Company D, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment of the 1st Air Cavalry Division. Near the end is a day-to-day journal of our activities during my tour of duty. I have also included some pictures submitted to me by others who were in my unit or with our support units. In addition, there is a section with video and audio clips, magazine and newspaper articles, stories and other items of interest of the period.
However, my job was in
the fire direction center of the mortar platoon and most of the pictures relate to and
acknowledge the mortar squads and the men who served with me. This website is a
tribute to them and to my unit.
I hope you like it.
